If I check the range.formula property after the formula has run it is also missing the symbol but when I check the cell in the workbook its there. I have checked the value by assigning it to a string and checking its value in VBA and the symbol is missing. For example if i run the formula ThisWorkbook.Worksheets(Sheet_Name).Range("A1").Formula = "=AND(ISNUMBER(A2:A10))" excel will insert into the cell. After a process of elimination I found that excel is automatically inserting an symbol before the range in all is formulas (ISTEXT, ISNUMBER etc.). I have been using the range.formula property to insert formulas into a worksheet and have had no problems until today when I altered some formulas to include the ISNUMBER formula.
